Determined older I get, the more I pay. When I was young I always choose the most expensive was in a shop, or at least that's what my mother says. Not much has changed in 50 years. My desire for quality has become easy for the quality.
Although not born with a silver spoon I have never hesitated from my standards. Of course, over the years, I have to pay at times. For example, at a time I owned an old Mercedes Benz, but at least Ipossessed. I say owned because it was not long until I find out that the repair costs were higher in my Benz just for the name.
My taste in clothing is very similar. I accepted the club's fashion police. I remember with pleasure the years I worked for Chase Manhattan Bank executive wing in Tampa, Fla., before it merged with JP Morgan. There were three of us who were connected. We often dressed like the other employees and have at timeswas pretty bad. We were not cruel or rude, we just quietly chuckled at noon.
I remember rightly, a visit from my brother, Steven, from Atlanta, Georgia. I met him at the airport in Tampa and when I saw it again for the first time in six years, said: "Wow sis, you're beautiful!" That certainly made my millennium!
My passion for good wine and food is no different than my taste for something different. I can not drink $ 100 bottles of wine every night, but I have enjoyed afew. And then there's the chocolate, my only real vice.
I have a real love / hate relationship with chocolate. I like it when it's dark, creamy and rich, but my hips, well I think you understand. I have all the best chocolate you can eat as Godiva ® Ghirardelli ® Swiss Belgian. However, it was not until early 2006 that I absolutely unmistakable fabulous chocolate you can begin to imagine discovered.
The bakery, which I have found thatalways fulfill my fantasy of chocolate for more than 12 miles south of Los Angeles is in Whittier, California. My little taste of Italy is owned by Gloria Berg and his daughter, Liz. From my first order from chocolate chips, chocolate chip cookies dipped, I was hooked. Then, late last year, Liz came up with a recipe for Cappuccino Brownies, the out-of-this-world! They are so rich and creamy that Jan Verhoeff, another of his loyal customers, has rightly called "Orgasmic!" IBada Bing still have their cake bundt chocolate taste, but since it's my favorite part, where you know you do not have much time until it is beyond my trembling lips.
I do not know what is their secret, but I for one am certainly glad that they found it. Gloria told me that my little taste of Italy authentic Italian chocolate used in all their chocolate delicacies. I do not know what they are doing, makes it sooooo yummy, but whatever it is, I hope you never stopit. It is no wonder to me that has developed a reputation for all their goodies not only in America but also in foreign countries.
Mama Gloria, as Mrs. Berg is known in several versions, coming for the holidays. He tells me that they have two new flavors of cookies and a new cookie Florentine she calls "Hot Mama" was developed. I wonder what is the secret ingredient.
